Terry Stein, LMT, ART

Terry is a Licensed Massage Therapist and has been practicing Active Release Techniques® (ART®) since 2003. As an athlete, he was originally introduced to ART® with a shoulder injury. After treatment, he was so impressed with the results he chose to pursue ART® certification. In this pursuit, Terry had the opportunity to train with Dr. Michael P. Leahy, ART® founder and Chairman of the Board, as well as top level ART® instructors. Today his practice is primarily focused around ART®. He is Master’s Certified as a Full Body Practitioner and holds three advanced ART credentials in Nerve Entrapments, Palpation Technique and Complex Protocols.

Terry began building his practice by pioneering on-site pre- and post- event ART® treatments at many Long Island athletic events; including the majority of local triathlons, various running races, swimming events and Expositions. As he gained experience, Terry became a member of the ART® Ironman Provider Network, currently referred to as  ART Ironman, ART Proud Partner. These practitioners are race tested to provide on-site care to athletes competing in sanctioned events both nationally and internationally.

Terry is also a member of the ART® Elite Provider Network (EPN). Members of the EPN are recruited from the most highly qualified doctors and therapists who have demonstrated a commitment to resolving soft tissue conditions as quickly as possible and by making ART® a primary focus of their practice.

He is also a member of ART® Corporate Solutions. ARTCS offers Active Release Techniques® to companies striving to reduce workman’s compensation costs and recordable injury rates. ART® is provided to as a wellness and first aid initiative in the area of repetitive strain and strain/sprain injuries or muscular skeletal disorders (MSD’s).

Today, Terry’s practice, Athletes Performance Care, is committed to providing the highest quality of care to athletes at all levels and disciplines, patients dealing with work related injuries and those affected by the common aches and pains of daily living.
